McKenna Group has its own on site facility for design, manufacture and maintenance of wax injection tools. This facility Award Toolmakers, whilst operating as a facility for external customers in its own right, also effectively provides McKenna Group with an in-house facility. Located on its Worksop Site Award Toolmakers is equipped for the following;  

Tooling is manufactured in aluminium, brass and steel, industry standard machinery. Services include;

CNC Milling, 
CNC Turning,
EDM (Spark Erosion)
Surface Grinding.

Mckenna Group can work in conjunction with surgeons, inventors, companies and other entrepreneurs to produce initial designs for their products for the casting process.

Our designers can produce the initial 2D drawings and 3D models for the production of rapid pro-types and subsequent tooling that will be required for production making Mckenna Group a one stop shop. We can take projects from conception through to production.

Due to the expected ware and tare that occurs on tools Award is well equipped and resourced to provide tooling refurbishment and modification.

With the latest 3D modelling software complex 3D surfaces are achieved using;

1. MasterCam,
2. ProEngineer and
3. SolidWorks software

Significant cost savings are achieved by the ability to utilise customers existing 3D (CAD) models. Using the software listed above Award Tooling can work with the following file extensions.
