TESTING & MEASURING

It is imperative to perform continuous tests on products and processes. At Mckenna Group this activity is taken very seriously as it is used to ensure the product integrity.
From raw materials to the final product, our customer’s castings are subject to a wide range of testing methods.

 

Including;

  • Raw material evaluation, analysis and traceability,
  • Mechanical tests such as Hardness, Tensile, Charpy Impacts.
  •  Non-destructive examination including X-ray, ultrasonic, magnetic particle inspection and dye penetrant testing.
  • Metallurgical evaluation such as, metallographic examination of grain size & structure, plating thickness, and micro hardness.
  • Reject, trend and Pareto analysis, to improve quality and yield rates.
  • Spectro and XRF Analysis to to check chemical composition.
  • Dimensional Inspection Using CMM to verify manufactured parts and tooling
  • Reverse engineering to aid design of new products.

 

The type of testing that is performed by Mckenna Group is carried out in conjunction with customers’ specification and the agreed standard of finished products as defined by the customer,  International or Industry Standards (BSI, ASTM etc).
